Cemeteries are not something that we usually think
about when we consider giving to charities. Most of us don't even
consider a cemetery to be a charity but they are. When you go to
visit a loved one at a cemetery you want to see that it is
well-maintained and pleasing to the eye. Those things take funding
and man power. That funding comes from the giving people across
the globe.
Fraternal societies, by definition, are charities
that recognize another person as being so close that it resembles the
closeness of natural brotherhood. These societies are established
all over the country uniting people in brotherhood through all types of
similarities. These fraternal charities then choose a specific
cause they want to support and band together as one to accomplish the
goal they have set for themselves. There are domestic fraternal
societies, fraternal beneficiary societies and voluntary employees
beneficiary associations.
In this sub-category you will find local benevolent
life insurance associations, mutual insurance companies and
associations, supplemental unemployment compensation groups, and state
sponsored workers compensation providers. These are groups that
can be your life-line when you least expect it.
This sub-category recognizes all of the support
organizations that contribute to member organizations. These
consist of management and technical assistance, monetary and
non-monetary support, alliance/advocacy organizations, professional
societies/associations, research institutes and policy analysis.
These are the little people behind the scenes working to ensure that the
goal is met for their respective charities.
Pension and Retirement Funds are something everyone
wants and needs to have a less stressful life as they get older.
There are charities who assist with these funds. Those that can be
found here are teacher retirement fund associations, employee funded
pension trusts, and multi-employer pension plans. Companies try to
do their part, you do yours, and these charities try to help out in any
way they can.
