What are 'My Favorites?'

Favorites are a saved list of Charities or Charity Funds for each User. This can be thought of as "Bookmarking" a charity.

To access your favorites, click on the My Charities option in the top-right of every web-page.

This list is to help users remember those charities they found interesting, and is only for the personal use of the user.

What is a Charity Fund?

A Charity Fund is simply a group of charities.

Typical uses for a Charity Fund:
* To group charities that have a common mission.
* To group charities that are in my local area.
* To group charities so that I can share this group with others.
* To group charities so I can make one donation that goes to several charities.

Once created, a Charity Fund is just like any other charity:
* You can define the title, mission, and description of it.
* You can donate to it.
* You can review it.
* You can add it to your favorites.
* You can even add it to another Charity Fund

You may also make a Charity Fund a Public Charity Fund so that others may see your fund and donate to it.

How do I create a Charity Fund?

A Charity Fund is created simply by adding charities to them.

Browse the DonationNetwork.org website and when you find a Charity you would like to add to a Charity Fund, click on the Add to a Charity Fund link and that Charity will be added to a Charity Fund.

Once created, you can define in the Charity Fund
* The name of the Charity Fund
* The Charity Fund Mission
* A description of the Charity Fund
* What percentage of any contribution will be distributed to each Charity.
* Whether you would like to make this a Public Charity Fund.

How do I add a Charity to a Charity Fund?

While browsing DonationNetwork.org, when you find a Charity you wish to put in a Charity Fund, click on the Add to a Charity Fund link and that charity will be added to a Charity Fund.

If you have more than one Charity Fund created, you will be given the choice of which Charity Fund to add the Charity to. Simply check the box next to each of the Charity Funds that you would like to add the Charity to, and then click the Add to selected Charity Funds link.

Public Charity Fund

A Charity Fund may be made public so that other DonationNetwork.org users may donate to the Public Charity Fund you created.

A Public Charity Fund is added to the DonationNetwork.org search engine and charity listings so other may easily find it.

Once made public, the fund cannot be changed back to a private Charity Fund as others may have already donated to it or saved it in their favorites.

Can other people see my charity fund?

Your charity fund is created by you and is personal. If you would like others to be able to view it and even donate to it then you can choose to make it 'public.' You can make this selection in "My Charity Funds." If you make a charity fund public you can not change it back to private.

How many charities can I put in a charity fund?

A Charity Fund can contain from one to 100 Charities.

How can I view other's charity funds?

Once someone creates a 'public' charity fund then that fund will be listed in the 'Public Charity Funds' under the header "Find a Charity Now."

How do I delete a Charity Fund?

A Charity Fund can be deleted by following these steps:

1) Pull up your My Charities using either the link in the top-right of every page, or from the menu to the left.
2) Then select the My Charity Funds link.
3) Find the Charity Fund you wish to delete, and select Edit Charity Fund shown with the Charity Fund.
4) At the bottom you will find a Delete This Charity Fund link. Press this link. If this link does not appear, then you have made this a Public Charity Fund which cannot be deleted.

Once deleted, a Charity Fund cannot be recovered.

What are Suggested Charities?

Suggested charities are determined based on the charities that you are donating to and the charities that you have in your 'My Favorites.' We use this information, along with that of other DonationNetwork.org members, to present you with some possible charities that you may be interested in. This is not an endorsement of the charities presented, but our best estimate of your charity preferences.

What do the Charts show me?

The Charts are a visual representation of your donations. These charts are to help show you how much you are donating and to what type of charities you are donating to.
