Teams
What is a Team? How is it formed?
A team refers to the people that are going to help you reach the
philanthropic
stages in the matching program. Like you, they are interested in helping and
motivating others to give to charitable
organizations. Your team is formed when two people join the
matching program and sign up using your team number.
How do I join a team?
Joining a team is easy. During
the online signup for the
matching program you will be asked for the team number of the team you
are wanting to join. Every team has a unique number. Simply
enter the team number you
wish to join.
What if I join the wrong team?
The real short answer is you'll be on the wrong team. It is not
possible to change the team you are on
after you have signed up. Again, make sure the team
number is correct.
I'm a team leader, what do I have to do?
The team leader has only
one requirement. The team leader decides where the matching funds we provide are
allocated. This is selected through your
online account page. Continuing to
spread the word about DonationNetwork and
encouraging your team to meet their
individual goals is always appreciated.
How is everyone a team leader?
This is the question most people have asked. Yes, all people are team
leaders and all people are on multiple teams. For
a clearer
understanding lets take an example from the everyday work place.
A large company (helpme.inc) has a team of vice presidents.
Each vice president has a team of national distributors. Thus, each vice
president is the team leader of the national distributor's team.
Each national distributor has a team of regional managers. This
makes each national distributor a team leader also.
So
they are team leaders and members of another team.
Each regional manager will have a team of local managers making each
regional manager a team leader.
Again, they are on a team (the
national distributors team) and a team leader (of the local managers)
You can continue the trend down
through the company. Just as it is in the matching program there are several team leaders
and even though they are team leaders they are also on other teams. Together they all
share the same goal of supporting the
main team (helpme.inc).
What if I still don't want to be a team leader?
We don't understand why anyone would go this route. But, if you don't want
to be a team leader then don't provide
anyone with your team number then no one can
sign up under your team. It
is a requirement that you have two people sign up to create a team
and be eligible for matching funds so, if no
one signs up under your number you will not be a team leader.
Can I have a team name instead of a number?
We are working on this option. The problem is
duplicate names. You
would be amazed how many people want to use the same team name. We hope to have a
solution in place so you can add a name to your team soon.
